Trust
Here it is, just three days before I leave for my very first mission trip to South America. I find myself at a crossroads between frenzied last minute packing, organizing and planning and sporadic, desperate prayer. Finally, I ask the Lord, “What must I do now?” He answers … loud and clear, you have obeyed, now TRUST! Saints, there is something important here for us to learn! Obedience itself is not enough! For what joy, what contentment is there in obeying God in a ministry call or assignment if we are so full of stress and worry because of it, that we are miserable … and by the way, how does God get glory in that? I know so many pastors and other ministers (missionaries included) who absolutely reflect no joy in their lives. They are unhappy, unfulfilled and not only that, they are a terrible witness.
I guess I am really talking to myself here, because I feel that I am at this place. I have heard the call to take specific prayer to the nations. I have answered that call. I am always in the “raising finances mode” to facilitate that call. I am networking, connecting and communicating constantly to grow in that call; I feel that I have done all that I can do. And now, IT IS TIME TO TRUST! Ephesians 6:13 says, “having done all, TO STAND.” I will wait upon the Lord. I will trust in the Lord. And I will give Him Glory in all that He does.
Please pray for me as I lead this team. This is a brand new venture … a different people, a different culture. Believe with me that God will have His way, that we as a team will function under the amazing POWER of the HOLY GHOST, and that we will find favor as we have never experienced it before! Next month, you will … did you hear that???? YOU WILL hear testimony of His Goodness in Chile, Argentina and Uruguay.
Put your complete trust in Him, and experience the true joy of the Lord.
