Attack Lamb – Denise Churchel

In his book, The Attack Lambs, Mark Geppert closes with the statement that “Faith is the key to all the strategies of God. Prayer Walking, interceding in the gap and being an Attack Lamb is no exception.” As an Attack Lamb, it is important to remember that you can make a difference, even if you think of yourself as an unlikely candidate. That confidence comes from faith in the Lord.

Denise Churchel

Longtime friend of SEAPC, Denise Churchel, is a great example of a faithful Attack Lamb. She started in children’s ministry 20 years ago. Denise says, “God doesn’t call the equipped. God equips the called.”  What a great point to make about missions! She says about her experience starting out, and then growing in the Lord: “We had a handful of kids, several volunteers and did kids ministry in the basement of the church on carpet squares and led worship with a cassette player. I can’t sing, so it was really bad! We now have about 120 volunteers who minister to over 300 kids in 3 different locations. God has been so good to us!” Denise credits many mentors and coworkers who helped her along the way.

As you can see, Denise truly became equipped in the Lord’s work. She says that, “It’s only by God’s grace and the leading of the Spirit that I have been able to lead and continue to grow children’s ministry.” Denise is one person making a difference for Jesus. She knows that if you feel called, the Lord will prepare your way and make you a fisher of men. Where are you being called?
