Birthdays and Blessings
How did you celebrate (or hide from) your 30th birthday? All suggestions are welcome as I turn 30 on August 4 and I am not sure how I feel about it! Recently, we celebrated my niece’s first birthday and she was showered with loads of gifts from lots of friends and family. However, she was more entertained by the wrapping paper than by anything else! Kids are funny like that, I guess! When I think back to all of my birthdays as a child, I remember the good times, the abundance of food, the gifts, and the fun activities I took part in to celebrate. Now, as an adult, I realize that all of the birthday parties were a privilege and the real blessings were having friends and family that loved me, clean clothes to wear, and nice bed to sleep in.
