Each One, Reach One |
Have you ever noticed how each day gets better than the one before? We just had our board meeting. Wow, what a wonderful team the Lord has brought together. As we sit around that table and speak of Myanmar and Montana, sing praises to the Lord, call upon His Name and seek His face, there is such a feeling of love for one another.
In 2011, the Lord has supplied — just through the US office — more than one million dollars to be spent on “Changing Lives through Prayer.” He has provided for people. They have given to SEAPC to distribute the funds among, basically, the children of the nations we serve. As we read through the country reports, we were thrilled to see the hand of the Lord at work. Evangelism, church planting, leadership development, health, education, and parenting have all increased through the administration of the gifts you have given. And we have been able to keep to our 8% administration costs.
In one voice, we want to thank you for your very generous prayer for and giving to the various ministries of SEAPC.
Several months ago, I challenged Matt, Ralph, Don, John, Steve, and Dave – our Success Team – to develop the structures and practices that will grow us to a five million dollar per-year ministry. Why do we want to be that size? Because, while we are doing a good job now, we have just scratched the surface in the nations we serve and we are being invited into more nations weekly. At this meeting, they presented the track to walk, jog, and then run on to get us to that level in five years.
The way is not complicated. If you pray daily for SEAPC, then please enjoin a prayer partner. Ask someone to also pray daily for SEAPC.
If you sponsor a child through SEAPC, then please enjoin another person to sponsor a child.
If you give financially to SEAPC, then please enjoin another person to give financially. If we do this, each one reach one, for four years, then we will be there. The newsletter will become a magazine, the staff will grow, the souls saved, churches planted, children rescued, degrees accomplished, businesses started, and unreached peoples reached will increase in proportion. And, you will know the joy of multiplication of a ministry in which you believe.
Let’s say that you currently receive the newsletter and you like it. Good, please suggest the address of a few friends who also like the newsletter but do not now receive it. Or ask for copies to hand out to your church or prayer group. Let’s say you receive it electronically. Then, how about a “forward to all”?
Let’s say you donate $100 to SEAPC each month which is our average per donor. If you would enjoin one other person to do the same, or just to match your giving level, we would be well on the way on our faith journey to rescue children, or to provide Bibles for new believers, or to cure children of disease.
Every day with Jesus gets better than the day before; when we are able to let go of the day before.
During one of this year’s trans-Pacific flights (by the way I am back to M&Ms for these) I had occasion to notice my hands. I was wringing them to stimulate circulation. As I clenched my fists the thought occurred to me that, if I hold tight to yesterday’s blessing, I cannot receive what the Lord has for me today. Looking at the clenched fists, the further thought came, “If you are angry with your brother, leave your gift and go and be reconciled to your brother.” A clenched fist cannot receive the blessing of the Lord.
Then I pointed my index fingers and realized that if I am judging or accusing another person, I also cannot receive. Or, if I am carrying a heavy burden, I also cannot receive until I cast all my cares on Christ.
As we enter the New Year, I am more determined to keep palms up, hands empty. I trust the Lord to double the size of SEAPC in 2012 and to double us again in 2013. To see this happen, we have to continue our policy of “pass it on as fast as we can.”
I believe that we will see the Lord establish a refuge village for children in Cambodia. Not just our tenth New Hope home, but a village. I believe that we will complete the “Every County Campaign” in Tibet and will cover every province of Thailand with Attack Lambs centers. I believe we will put a Bible in the hands of every one of the thousands of believers in Laos and complete the building of the Thipvaly University. I believe we will open five Prayer Centers along the South Side of the Himalayas. I believe we will graduate our first class from the Rongko Institue of Technology.
All of these things will happen as we join ourselves to Jesus and enjoin others to serve together with us.
Please have the Merriest of Christmases. “Let not your heart be troubled.” You believe in God, believe also in His Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ. Sent from the Father to bring us great joy, He has sent the Comforter, the Holy Ghost from Heaven to brighten our day and show us the way.
From all of us at SEAPC, to you and yours, Merry Christmas.
Mark
