Walking in Trust in Chile
I have delayed trying to express in words some of the events that took place in South America on my recent short-term prayer trip. The reason for this is not laziness or apathy, it is simply that there are no adequate words in the English language to describe the power and goodness of God! I am learning what it means to walk in another realm — the realm that comes as a result of trust!
On November 8, I left with Heather Kimbriel, who is a member of Pastor Jack Hempfling’s Church, Living Waters in Leroy, New York, for Santiago, Chile. We departed from Dallas, Texas at about 10:00 a.m., landing in Santiago around 11:00 a.m. There we met with Pastor Tony Garcia, the OCC Director in Mexico, and now Latin America, along with Brother Hose Angel Lucioramoz (Pepe), who had both traveled from Saltillo, Cuahuila, Mexico. Several pastors met us at the airport and immediately took us to the National President’s Palace, where there was a meeting scheduled with the Chaplain to the President. After clearing through security with our passports, visas, etc. (which had been registered prior to our entrance into the country) we were given a private tour for the purpose of prayer. This facility is to Chile, what the White House is to those of us here in the United States. This prayer tour culminated in the Chapel. The sense of God’s Presence was so strong in that place, and the Presence of God was so real, I can’t put it into words. I can only say, it was at this time that God began to show us many areas where prayer was necessary for this nation. When God does that … He is ready to answer those prayers!
Chile is a nation which enjoyed a great revival about 20 years ago, and there are still many strong pockets of His powerful moving amongst the people. About 25% of the population is Christian – a phenomenal number. About 20% 0f the Christians are of the Methodist/Pentecostal Denomination, a rather strange combination here in North America.
We also had the opportunity to preach on the radio four different times while in Santiago. I want to share one quick experience. Right after the first time preaching, we were invited out for a traditional cool drink at a sidewalk café. I happened to sit down with two men to drink my juice. One was a young student, the other an old man. As we talked and laughed, the young man finally asked us, “are you Christians?” When I answered “yes,” he jumped up and said he was too … and so was the old man! I asked, “How did you know we were Christians?” He answered word for word what I had just preached on the radio! He said, “You didn’t have to tell us, we knew by your faces, your eyes, your words and your love!” If Christ is alive in us we should reflect Him! Forget the t-shirt, the bumper sticker, etc. You won’t need these things for people to know that Christ reigns in your heart!
More next time.

Dear Ones in Christ,
I was at a prayer-walking seminar in Bedford, Pa years back, I would think it was around 2001. I can tell you that I have never been the same as far as praying for the lost….. So many of the accounts that Mark relates to in his teachings comes to my mind when I am in a similar situation in the area where I live….I just follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and move my “Ark” to the place HE shows me, turn on the motor (praying in the Spirit) and I watch God work….sometimes the answer comes forth as the speed of sound, and sometimes it is manifested over periods of time….but the fact remains that is does COME ! Along with remembering the teaching of Mark, I have been studying from the books and CD’s of another well-known teacher, Cindy Trimm @ (Trimminternational.com) in her lessons on the the Purpose of the Church ! Both Mark and Cindy have enriched my walk with Christ , and has increased and solidified my faith in the power of the spoken Word of God, through the Holy Spirit over situations by prayer purpose, and prayer walking. Thank you so much Mark for it has literally changed the purpose for, and in my life as a Christian !
In Christ,
Judy Dodson
