Eternal
Press In To Press On #6
Mark Geppert
You were known in Christ before the foundations of the earth. (Eph. 1:4) Before “God said and there was light,” before God formed the heavens and the earth by the word of His mouth, He had ordained good works that you would be walking in today. (Ephesians 2:10) The life you live today is by the decision of God to send you here with a word from Him, a very special and significant word that will bring light and life to all who hear it. God, who has neither beginning nor end, has included you in His eternal time and purpose.
You are where you are by His design to bless and prosper you. Perhaps, before you surrendered to His will as higher than yours, you made some decisions that were neither bright nor purposeful. (Isaiah 55:9) There is the chance that, while you were being Lord of your life, you messed up a few decisions, and the consequences surround you as a cloud of doubt and negativity; but, if you press in to the Lord, you will find that He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6)
Your response to the overtures of Christ brought to life your inner or spiritual person. You were dead in sin and trespass, but have now been made alive in Christ. You have been born again. You are now in the flow of heritage born of the Spirit of God. Your old life has passed away with its addictions, desires, thoughts, and emotions, and you are now being daily nourished by the bread of life, the word of God. That word is giving you the wisdom and strength to go forward in Christ’s purpose for you.
Life looks different for you are seeing with the Spirit and not the ways and wisdom of the world. You are now the temple, the container of the Holy Spirit. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. You are more than a conqueror through Christ. You are a child of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of the Living and not of the dead.
It is Christ in you that sustains you. He is the life in your life. He is the way in which you walk and the truth that fills your mind. In Him, you are the generation of Abraham’s Seed. (Galatians 3:29) You are the fruit of the faith of the man who walked with God in righteousness and like Father Abraham, you seek an abiding place, a City, whose builder and maker is God. (Hebrews 11:10)
Abraham believed God and set out with a Rhema from God that he would father many nations. You are a result of the faith of Abraham for he walked with God in all his generations as did Noah before him and Enoch before him.
You were counted in that ark and seen in that journey of promise. You, like Father Abraham are a small, but significant, part of the plan of God. As you mentor those you meet in your journey, they will multiply in number until they are more than the stars of the sky. The word that the Lord sent through you, your witness in the earth, will not return to Him void; but will accomplish that for which it has been sent.
May the Lord bless you today. May He lift from you all pressure to produce, and birth in you the faith to believe that He is now and will always reward you as you press in to Him.
